Real Madrid were at total ease as they went pass Atlectico Madrid on Thursday with a 1-0 victory at Estadio Vicente Calderon to book their place in the semi final of Copa Del Rey with Sevilla. Christiano Ronaldo was the star of the match, was he extended Madrid's lead to 1-0 in the 23rd minute hence making 4-1 aggregate lead in the second leg .
Real Madrid had a pretty good chance earlier as well, as Diego Forlan who earlier was adjudged to have scored the best goal of 2010 had struck with 2 goals so secure 2-0 lead in the first leg. But Ronaldo on Thursday sealed their semi final with a well deserved goal. The only bad news for Real was the injury to Khedira, who abandoned on 82’ and was substituted by Gago. Atletico earlier in the first half kept their solid defense , but could not remain for long as they lost Reyes at the 22nd minute. Just a minute later Christiano Ronaldo found the breach through their defence and fired past De Gea. Also Casillas had a pretty easy first half as no shots were imposed on him to save. Also in the second half he did not have to do much as well, he repelled some weak incomings from Costa and Fran Merida.
Real Madrid return to the Copa del Rey semifinals for the first time in five seasons and face current champion Sevilla.
