What Rod Laver Arena witnessed today was one of finest, toughest, and cruellest tennis display one would ever see in his life time. The record breaking Grand Slam final, after a tiring 5 hours and 53 minutes produced one of the best Finals in history of tennis.
Serbian Novak Djokovic pulled out a scintillating victory over the former World Number 1 Rafeal Nadal in an epic five set affair. The final result was 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5. Nadal on one point on the verge of victory, had to see the flip-side of course. With 4-2 lead in the last set, Djokovic turned this into an opportunity to redeem himself, which he successfully did breaking twice in the final set in order to achieve his fifth Grand slam, and third Australian Open title.
The first Australian Open title came in 2008 where he defeated French Jo- Wilfred Tsonga, next in 2011 defeating World Number 4 Andy Murray, and this near the World number 2, the King of Clay Rafeal Nadal. Above is the video highlights for the match. Watch and Enjoy!! :)
