Younis, Azhar Resilience Swooshes past England camp

After the 2nd day's play at Dubai of the final test match, Pakistan might be looking for a feat last time achieved back in 1907. Yes, this was 29th July 1907, when England had beaten South Africa by 53 runs, after being knocked out on a score less then 100 in their first innings. This might turn into reality, courtesy of two determined men, who were out to set this history i.e Younis Khan, and Azhar Ali. Pakistan currently lead by 180 runs, with 8 wickets in hand.

Pakistan after losing two early wickets at just 28 runs, were tottering again, and were looking to repeat a similar show as in the first innings. But the master class act by the master himself Younis Khan, was not out at the day's play end with 115, whereas the young gun Azhar was solid as ever and was 75 not out. With this century, Younis has become the first player to score a century in the series; Azhar  on the other hand is marching his way through, and might join the league with him on the third day as well. Their partnership - 194  is the highest of the series and has surely struck the decisive blow in this Test.

The game plan the whole had been plain simple, "Play Straight".  This was the  hallmark, which England players have struggled to achieved through this series. Both were exposed to some good spinners in the English attack but were able to show their mettle at the right time. English attack seemed feeble, and looked helpless after the duo's grit determination was not letting anything undone.

If England gets white-washed and South Africa subsequently beat New Zealand by the same margin, then South Africa will assume the prime number 1 spot. Also with Pakistan winning this test match, will be whitewashing England for the first time, and most importantly will become only the sixth team to achieve the feat mentioned earlier.

Alastiar Cook, who was in some serious business said:

"We all know we're a very long way behind in this game," 

 "But if we sit here and say 'well, we've lost this game already' then we might as well give Pakistan victory right now. If we're thinking that in our dressing-room, we might as well just not bother turning up.

"It will take some serious guts to drag ourselves out of this. But there are some bloody good players in that dressing-room, and I hope we can stand up. Anything is possible, but it's going to take a lot of mental toughness to deliver it."

Now its upto the third day, where the games goes by, who creates history for whom, and who takes all the glory.
