Rafeal Nadal not to play in London Olympics

In a very unfortunate circumstances, the reigning Olympic Gold Medallist in Tennis Men's Singles Rafeal Nadal, will not be competing for this year's Olympics to be held in London. This decision came due to his existing tendinitis in his knee.

Beijing Games Gold Medallist who was selected as the flag bearer for the Spanish Olympic squad, will now stay back at home. Rafeal Nadal won the Beijing 2008 Games in the Men's Singles category defeating Fernando Gonzales.
I am not in [a] condition to compete in the London Olympics and therefore will not travel as planned with the Spanish delegation to take part in the games, said Nadal.
I have to think about my companions, I can't be selfish and I have to think of what's best for Spanish sport… and give fellow sportsmen with better preparation the chance to compete. I tried to hurry my preparations and training to the very last minute, but it was not to be."
It is one of the saddest days of my career. You can imagine how difficult it was to take this decision.

Rafeal Nadal has been suffering from the condition since Wimbledon, which eventually find his way out in a stunning loss against  World No 100 Lukas Rosol in five sets. This is eased up the competition for other competitors and Roger Federer will eye for his first Olympics Gold Medal in Single's category.
